What is a QuickCode?

QuickCodes are used by you for anonymous communication with your favorite celebrities, brands, tv and radio shows.

How do I get a QuickCode?

QuickCodes are spreading quickly nationwide. TV and radio personalities are using QuickCodes to interact with their audiences across the country. We’re currently on multiple TV and radio stations, so stay tuned to weigh in and engage anonymously!

How do I get a QuickCode as a brand or personality?

Contact us at info@crazyraccoons.com if you’re interested in a personalized QuickCode to interact directly with your audience.

Do I need a QuickCode to sign-up?

No, it is not required. If you do not have one, tap the option to skip during sign-up.

Why don’t you show the response counts to questions?

All questions are receiving thousands of answers. Because Zip is a social app, we don’t want brands using it to conduct research. However, we are open to maybe releasing that feature in the future.

How do I flag a question?

Tap the flag icon at the top right of the question screen.

I don’t want to see Political questions, what can I do?

You can simply opt out of any categories you would not like to receive questions from. Visit your categories of interest and uncheck the ones you would like to opt out of and click save.

Are my questions limited to a certain geographic area?

No. To make answers fair and balanced, Zip is designed to give you the most even geographic distribution of your question possible. So chances are the results you see are from all over the map!

Will my name or personal information ever be shared under any circumstances?

No. Zip will never release or share any of your personal information under any circumstances.

Are my questions and answers anonymous?

Yes. Keeping you, your questions and your answers anonymous is what makes Zip so fun, interesting and valid. Every interaction you make on Zip is 100% private and anonymous.

Once my question expires, will I still be able to see the results?

Yes. Simply go to your menu bar located at the top left corner of your Zip home screen, tap the menu icon, select "asked questions", then tap on the question you want to see. The results will be displayed in a pop-up window.

Can I send my question just to certain users?

Not at this time. However, we are currently exploring creating a version of the app that will allow you to create a private Zip group of up to 20 of your friends. If enough users are interested, you will receive a question in your feed that will let you know.

Can I send my question to a certain number of users?

No. We want to keep everyone's questions fair and on a level field, so we distribute the questions in a fair and balanced manner.

How do I delete a question?

Go to your Asked Questions and simply swipe the question left and tap delete.

If I notice a mistake or typo in a question or answer I have already sent out to Zip users, can I go back and make corrections or changes?

No. In order to keep questions and answers fair, once you send a question to other Zip users, it cannot be edited or recalled.

Can I access Zip on my home computer?

No. Zip is designed specifically for mobile devices so that the app is always on-hand for great social interaction.

Why is the app missing buttons on my iPhone 4?

Unfortunately, Zip is only available on iPhone 5 models and up.

Can I share the results of my question(s) on social media?

Yes. You will see "Share my answer" on various screens. Currently you can share on Facebook, Twitter or via email, and we plan on adding more social media platforms in future versions. To share, simply tap "Share my answer" and follow the prompts.

What if I find a question offensive? How do I file a report or let someone know?

When you are on the screen that has a question you feel is offensive, tap the flag icon located in the top right corner of that same screen. A pop-up window will appear. Select the most appropriate reason to report the question and we will be notified immediately. If that question breaches our terms of use, it will be removed and the asker will either be notified or have their account terminated.

What is considered mature content?

We consider mature content anything deemed inappropriate for any person under the age of 21, but socially acceptable to any person over 21. If you feel a question you are asking is not suitable for any person under 21, be sure to select “Yes” under the Mature Content option on the “ask a question” screen to avoid having your question flagged as inappropriate by the Zip community.

What is considered offensive content?

Zip is a family-friendly app and we frown heavily on any inappropriate, vulgar, insulting, racist, violent or offensive questions. Violation of the terms will result in instant termination of a user’s account. Please see our terms of use for detailed information.

How can I avoid/block certain categories that don’t interest me?

To ensure you only get questions that interest you, tap the menu button located at the top left of your home page. Select "categories of interest" located in Preferences and make sure only the categories you are interested in have a red check mark next to them. Remember, selecting more categories means you can give your opinion on more topics. When you are finished, tap "Save". A pop-up window will appear confirming your change. Tap "OK" and you will be returned to the home screen. If you change your mind, you can edit your categories of interest at any time.

The app is acting weird - it is glitching or not showing categories or questions.

Please make sure all of your categories are selected and age settings are maxed out all the way. If no categories appear after you have saved them, please log out and log back in.

Will other users be able to find/search for me?

No. You are, and always will be, an anonymous user. No one is ever identified in any way on our app.

Is there a limit on the number of questions I can submit?

No. You are only limited by the number of hours in a day!

Can you see who asked the question or where it came from?

No. To allow users to ask and answer questions honestly, the entire app is based on anonymity.

Can I follow questions I find particularly interesting?

Yes, when you read a question you want to follow, touch the "bell" icon located at the top left corner of the question screen before you answer. Answer the question, then it will be filed into your "followed questions" folder. To access your "followed questions" folder, select the menu icon button located at the top left corner of the Zip home page. Tap "followed questions" located in My History to view your followed questions.

Can I go back to a question?

If you answered a question, but did not click the “bell” icon to follow the question, you can still see the results once the time period expires on the question. Simply tap the menu button located at the top left of your home page and select “answered questions” under My History. You can then select the question you want to see and a pop-up window will be displayed with the results. Please note, however, that once a question has been answered, you cannot change your response.

Can a question be answered twice in case I change my mind?

No. Your first answer is the only opportunity to anonymously voice your opinion, so please think carefully before selecting your response.

Will I receive a notification once my question has been answered?

Yes, we feel if you asked the question, you want to know the results! You will automatically receive a push notification containing the results to your question as soon as the end time period you designated is reached. Please note that this notification will only be sent during the time period you approved for push notifications to be sent to you.

How do I adjust the number of push notifications I receive?

Select the menu icon button located at the top left corner of the Zip home page, then tap "push settings" located in Preferences. Adjust the number of push notifications you’d like to receive per day by tapping the + or - symbol. You may also opt to select a “Do Not Disturb” time range on this screen if you’d like. Click “Save” and a pop-up window will appear confirming your change. Tap "OK" and you will be returned to the home screen.

How do I adjust the age range of the people I receive questions from?

Select the menu icon button located at the top left corner of the Zip home page. Tap "age settings" located in Preferences. To adjust the youngest age you would like to receive questions from, drag the white button located on the left side of slider bar. You will see the age range change to the right of the bar. To adjust the oldest age you would like to receive questions from, drag the white button located on the right side of the slider bar. Tap "Save" when you are finished. A pop-up window will appear confirming your change. Tap "OK" and you will be returned to the home screen.

Does downloading the app cost anything?

No. Zip is offered as a free app available for use without limitation. Standard carrier data and messaging rates may apply for downloading the app.

How do I skip a question?

Zip operates using swipe technology. To skip a question, touch the bottom of the box containing the question and, with your finger still on the screen, swipe up quickly. The question will disappear toward the top of the screen and the next question will automatically be revealed.

How long can I keep my question active?

You can keep your question active for as little as 15 minutes or as long as a week, with many choices in between those time periods.

I accepted when asked if I wanted mature content, but I’ve changed my mind. How do I make the mature content go away?

Select the menu icon button located at the top left corner of the Zip home page. Tap "age settings" located in Preferences. If the button to the right of "Allow Mature Content" is green and slid to the right, it permits questions with mature content to be shown in your feed. If the button is to the left side of the slider and no green is visible, mature content will be blocked from your feed. Select the one that best suits you, then tap "Save" when you are finished. A pop-up window will appear confirming your change. Tap "OK" and you will be returned to the home screen.

Can I see all the questions I've asked, along with the results?

Yes. All your questions are saved in your "asked questions". To view them, select the menu icon button located at the top left corner of the Zip home page. Tap "asked questions" located in My History, then tap any question to see the results.

Can I see all past questions that once appeared on my screen?

Yes. All questions are saved in your "answered questions". To view, select the menu icon button located at the top left corner of the Zip home page. Tap "answered questions" located in My History. Tap any question to see the results. Older questions will be automatically deleted to manage file size. If you see any questions you want to keep, we suggest taking a screen shot.

What if I move or need to change my email address?

You can change your email address or ZIP code in the "my profile" section located in Preferences. To change your profile, select the menu icon button located at the top left corner of the Zip home page. Tap "my profile" located in Preferences, then tap the section you want to edit. Once your desired changes have been made, tap "Save". A pop-up window will appear confirming your change. Tap "OK" and you will be returned to the home screen.

How can I share the app with friends?

Everyone could use Zip at some point of every day to help them make decisions and settle disputes, so be sure to share the fun! To share the app, select the menu icon button located at the top left corner of the Zip home page, then tap "Share/Invite" located in the red bar. A pop-up will display where you can choose to share on social media or send an email to a friend or a group of friends. You can also share the app directly from your home screen by clicking “share app with friends” on the bottom of the screen.

What if I have a question that is not answered here?

How do I delete my account?

We’re sorry to hear that you want you want to delete your Zip account. If you are experiencing technical difficulties, our team would be happy to help you solve them. If you are sure you want to delete your account, please email your name and email address to support@thezipapp.com.
